Green Resources is frequently the only private employer in the villages where it operates, and the Company provides the only source of cash income for many subsistence farmers.

There has been significant development in the villages where Green Resources is operating, with roofs covered by corrugated iron sheets, bicycles and radios being the most visible effects. Increased school attendance and in general, education, is an important long term effect.
